Two years ago, my father was found to have cancer for the second time, and after living in Kichijoji, Tokyo for over 20 years, I returned to my hometown of Nikko for caring reasons. Living in the countryside where I mostly travel by car has completely reduced my muscle strength, so yesterday I started slow jogging early in the morning.
Slow jogging is a method of running at a pace slow enough to allow for chit-chat, which is easier to continue because it is less likely to cause injury and is twice as strenuous as walking. Slow jogging is a method of running at a pace slow enough to allow for chit-chat, which is easier to continue because it is less likely to cause injury and is twice as strenuous as walking. Oriental medicine also believes that early to bed and early to rise in the summer is good for the human cycle. Currently, I am trying to get my son to bed and sleep at 10:00 p.m. and start running at 4:30 a.m.
Now, the half toile for the Japanese setup that we have been telling you about is ready! (Toile: a temporary sample made by needle without sewing with sheeting fabric) Based on this toile, we will modify the design pattern. For symmetrical garments, the actual three-dimensional image is created with a half body toile instead of both bodies, and the modifications are refined into the pattern. In both design, the master size is considered to be a size S. (I am 164cm and wear a size S when I wear KUDEN clothes.) We often make the standard master size in S because I want to try it on myself to make sure of the size and silhouette. Now, I hope you will experience the toile check, which is not so easy to see, through the pictures.
For the Hakama pants, we decided to shorten the hem by 3 cm from the toile in the photo to balance it out. Also, the belt that ties the hem at the back was originally designed to be made of the same fabric, but we decided to change the specifications by ordering a nylon belt material. The reason for this change was that it would increase the number of steps (which would increase the price) and that the belt would be bag sewn, which would make it bulky.
The MONPE pants have a pretty silhouette and are easy to move around in, so we decided to add layers of fabric and stitching to increase the strength of the knee area. There are several ways to do this, so we are considering how to make the best combination of strength and design. Common MONPE have an elastic waist, so I don't like the way it slips down when I put my phone or wallet in my pocket. So this time, we have added an elastic waistband, a strap, and belt loops so that you can use it in different ways depending on where you are going to wear it.
We will now move into fabric selection and first sample production while finalizing the pattern. Thank you for reading. See you next week.
