In this mail magazine, 【KUDEN by TAKAHIRO SATO】 will send you topics such as Japanese culture including kimono, fashion, lifestyle, and behind-the-scenes stories of creators every Friday, written by fashion designer Takahiro Sato.I became a fashion designer at the age of 43 to create a place to work with my son who has a disability, and I am challenging myself as a creator and manager to go overseas. Hello everyone, it's designer Tak, Sato Takahiro.


Today I am here in Karuizawa with my son and my staff.
In addition to KUDEN, I am also in the business of taking on advisory work for companies that are without designers or want to brand themselves, and advising them on the direction of their design and branding.
I am a design advisor for an apparel brand for dogs.
Writing this article in Karuizawa for the opening of a new store in the fall and for consultations and meetings on new product development and IT-related matters.
The slogan of Gerbera Design Inc., which operates KUDEN is "Let's live like traveling". The company has been pioneering remote work, which is now standard practice, since about 2017.
The story was featured on the front page of the morning edition of the Tokyo Shimbun newspaper. (Published in 2017)
The reason why I decided on such a policy is because, after collapsing from hard work and going through divorce and bankruptcy, I wanted to work in a way that would allow me to raise my son and work with only one man's hand if something happened to him.
We are taking on various challenges in the hopes of creating an environment where staff can work freely in both time and place. Our current challenge is KUDEN by TAKAHIRO SATO, where we are trying to employ people with disabilities independently, earning foreign currency and not relying on subsidies or government money.

The new KUDEN symbol and work style will be introduced next week. Design drawings will also be available.
