There are several theories as to the origin of the name Fumizuki for July.
Fumi means letter, or in ancient times, book, and there is a theory that Fumizuki is based on the custom of passing books through the wind in July.
Another theory says that the name 'Fumizuki' is a translation of 'Hofumizuki',which means when the rice ears are harvested.
