■ 1. Catch up
Hello everyone. This is Takahiro Sato, aka Tak, the designer.
This week was a slow-paced week, as my son was tired from his new school life and I got sick, probably because I have been rushing around taking care of my father and raising our child all these years. Looking back, I realize that when I am not feeling well, my eating is usually unorganized. Looking back, I realize that when I am not feeling well, my eating is usually unorganized. I used to make some reserve dishes on weekends so that I could have a balanced nutrition and shorten my time even in a busy schedule, but recently I have been eating high-calorie and high-sugar foods because I don't make reserve dishes and it is too much trouble to think of a menu.
I myself fell ill due to hard work, and when I closed my former company, I suffered from diabetes, etc. I have been controlling my blood sugar level by diet for the last 8 years without insulin injections, so I was thinking back to the fact that disordered diet (disordered blood sugar level) affects not only me but also my son, my father who has dementia, and the performance of the staff. We are nowadays returning to a low-sugar menu. (In fact, one of my low-sugar recipes was even featured in a book on the Japanese cooking site CookPad.)
We are still trying to crowdfund Samurai Mode Kimono Gown. We are still trying to crowdfund Samurai Mode Kimono Gown. Thank you to CAMPFIRE, our domestic crowdfunding site, for reaching 1502%! Not only those who liked the design of our clothes, but also those who shared our dream of earning foreign currency and employing people with disabilities without relying on government subsidies, gave us their support and comments. We are truly grateful for your support, and we are encouraged every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those who have supported us and shared or word-of-mouth about our project!
Like Kimono gowns, KUDEN clothes are a bit expensive. Although only in Japanese, I have frankly explained why KUDEN's clothes are expensive in a podcast I started last week, as well as on my past Youtube channel. (We will be adding subtitles for our overseas customers as needed.)
KUDEN is committed to domestic sewing and fabrics in order to preserve "high Japanese sewing techniques" that are on the verge of extinction. Clothes are sewn by hand with a sewing machine. If the clothes are made cheaply in sewing factories in countries with low labor costs, the brand's profit will be high, but if the labor costs in those countries rise, the brand will look for even poorer countries. I would be ashamed to tell my son that I am going to employ people with disabilities or do charity work if I make clothes that trample on people's lives, like playing Bubba's chess. We pay a fair wage that is at a level where craftsmen in domestic sewing factories can live a normal life in Japan. This is why our clothes are more expensive than other brands.
As clothes get more expensive, we are concerned about designing and delivering clothes that are of good quality and that our customers will wear as long as possible after they buy them without getting tired of them.
Here is a 25-minute audio-only podcast to help you with your housework, commute, or work.
There is also a video of a conversation between Misamaru, a global ambassador, and the former president of Marron, the now bankrupt sewing factory that sewed KUDEN's first Samurai Mode Jacket, and its craftsmen.

Protecting Japan's advanced sewing techniques (Japanese and Western). We are ready to face such a mission together with you, KUDEN by TAKAHIRO SATO. We would greatly appreciate it if you could share our website and spread the word to your friends. We will accept your support with great care, and sincerely devote ourselves to our dream of creating a place to work with our son with disabilities, and to have a small but mighty Japanese and Western dressmaking factory in Nikko.
Sorry for the lack of content for this issue of the newsletter due to my health condition. I will resume content with Global Ambassador Ningyo Joruri Bunraku (puppet theater performer) Sakiju Tayu Toyotake starting next week. I will be updating the video of the conversation with me in three parts every week. Novels will also resume.
The change of season is upon us. Please take care of yourselves. Thanks for reading.
See you next time.
Tak

●What is traditional Japanese culture?|Performing arts, crafts, events, food, clothing, and housing During the Edo period (1603-1868), many artisans, including woodworkers, moved to Nikko when the Nikko Toshogu Shrine was being built.I was born in such a place, and in my childhood, I had a lot of contact with various artisans. There was a skilled knife smith who lived in the neighborhood where I was born and raised, and he took care of me from a young age and taught me how to forge knives. This experience is the starting point of inspiration for my designs, as I love to make things.Japanese traditional culture. I will introduce the arts, crafts, events, clothing, food, and shelter from a designer's point of view.

●KUDEN clothes care point by staff Sena Sena, a KUDEN staff member, also handles PR, translation, and voice acting. But within the company, he is known as the ironing master. Sena has always loved ironing and does it before each KUDEN photo shoot, and since KUDEN's clothes have gimmicks and designs not found in other brands, ironing requires a certain knack. This is a care corner by Sena, who receives tips and advice from sewing artisans and concierges.
●KUDEN History「Live like traveling」 After falling into bankruptcy, falling ill, being separated from my son, and hitting rock bottom, I decided that I create a place where I could work with my disabled son in the future. I decided to start KUDEN with this goal in mind. Through encounters with various people, KUDEN has come to be what it is today. People who want to become fashion designers. People who are interested in how to start a new business in this era, people who like KUDEN's clothes and want to know more about KUDEN. For those who want to get hints for overcoming hardships and adversities, and for those who love children with disabilities, we will weave a memoir of KUDEN's history from its origins to the present. →KUDEN History「Live like traveling」Part 03 “Stay in the Philippines: Fatherhood and Management Side”(Latest article in Vol.006)
